Meet the Author
Dr. Maria Flores-Harris
Dr. Flores-Harris has spent her career watching nurses carry more than clinical skill into their work — they carry compassion, integrity, and purpose, often quietly and under pressure no one else sees. That observation is what led her to write this book: a conviction that nursing is not just a set of competencies to master, but a calling that deserves to be nurtured, protected, and talked about honestly.
She holds a Bachelor's and Master's in nursing from Clemson University (a loyal Tiger, always) and a Doctorate in Nursing Education Practice, with 15 years spent consulting in nursing education. Outside of nursing, she's an unapologetic animal advocate, currently outnumbered by a household of frisky felines, and enjoys travel and photography.
